At the 2020 SBS Drama Awards, held on Dec 31, teaser videos for the dramas scheduled to air this year were unveiled. And among them, Joseon Exorcist (literal title), set after the establishment of the Joseon dynasty, became the hottest topic. Joseon Exorcist is a Korean-style exorcism fantasy historical drama about a war against evil spirits from the west that have engulfed the entire Joseon. It will build up an original worldview by adding the concept of ŌĆ£exorcismŌĆØ to the imagination of Yi Bang Won (King Taejong), who was patrolling the North, facing a mysterious creature that is trying to reign over humans. The teaser video featured actors Kan Woo Sung, Jang Dong Yoon, Park Sung Hoon, and more. The horrifying and gruesome appearance of the evil spirits put the chill down viewersŌĆÖ spines, while The Nokdu Flower and Six Flying Dragons director Shin Kyung SooŌĆÖs unique taste shown in the teaser raised more expectations. However, the reactions were clearly split in two.
