According to multiple officials in the industry, Suriname additionally confirmed the casting of Jo Woo Jin, Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Hae Soo, and Choo Ja Hyun. Earlier, Ha Jung Woo and Hwang Jung Min have officially joined the project. The cast conducted their first table read on Monday. The drama is based on the true story of a Korean who became a drug lord in Suriname, South America. It will be released as a 6-part series and has a production budget of 35 billion KRW (about 30,977,040 USD). Ha Jung Woo, dubbed ŌĆ£Yoon Jong BinŌĆÖs persona,ŌĆØ will be working with Yoon for the fifth time. The two have already teamed up for The Unforgiven, The Moonlight Of Seoul, Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time, and KUNDO: Age of the Rampant. Hwang Jung Min also worked with Yoon in The Spy Gone North. For Suriname, Hwang Jung Min turns into the drug lord. Ha Jung Woo will play the character who helps the national intelligence agency to arrest the drug lord. Jo Woo Jin, Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Hae Soo, and Choo Ja Hyun will either become drug lordŌĆÖs gang members or agents of the national intelligence service. Suriname was originally scheduled to be filmed in the Dominican Republic. However, with the outbreak of the COVID virus, the entire production was moved to Korea. The production team plans to mainly shoot in Jeju Island and other parts of the country. Then about 20% of the filming will take place in Southeast Asian countries.
