EXOŌĆÖs Lay, f(x) ŌĆśs Victoria, PRISTINŌĆÖs Kyulkyung, WJSNŌĆÖs Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi and Xuan Yi celebrated the 70th anniversary of ChinaŌĆÖs military involvement in the Korean War, generating massive responses. In the post, they wrote, ŌĆ£LetŌĆÖs remember history, cherish peace and pay our respect to the heroes.ŌĆØ This is analyzed as a result of the wrong historical awareness of most Chinese people. In Chinese textbooks, the Korean War is described as a war they participated to ŌĆ£fight against the United States and help Joseon (North Korea then).ŌĆØ They also left out many historical facts, including the surprise invasion of North Korea with the help of the Chinese military and the massive killings of South Koreans. However, the Korean War is defined as ŌĆ£war that started on 25 June 1950 when North Korea (with the support of China and the Soviet Union) invaded South Korea following clashes along the border and insurrections.ŌĆØ For South Koreans, the Chinese military is equivalent to an enemy who allied with the North Korean military and devastated our land. These Chinese K-pop idols who received much love from K-netizens are causing confusion by posting posts based on Chinese peopleŌĆÖs distorted view of history.
