The reasons behind the movieŌĆÖs success at the box office are the beautiful exotic scenery of Morocco throughout the movie and the realistic car chase scene in the second half of the film. Many left favorable reviews regarding the thrilling experience on a large screen of the theater and how it gave a strong sense of immersion. Meanwhile, The Cursed Dead Mans Prey, which was released on the same day, started on a low note collecting only 120,000 moviegoers. Unlike Escape from Mogadishu, the thriller doesnŌĆÖt have the privilege to forgo ticket sales split until the box office reaches 50% of the budget.
