According to Chinese local news on July 22nd, the Chaoyang branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau informed that they are currently looking into Du MeizhuŌĆÖs claims against Kris Wu and his lawsuit against Du after she allegedly blackmailed the musician. The ongoing police investigation revealed that KrisŌĆÖ manager invited Du Meizhu to Kris WuŌĆÖs house on December 5th, 2020. She came over to the site, believing it was an audition for the role in his music video. She recalled about ten people were drinking and partying at WuŌĆÖs house. On the following morning, Du and Wu engaged in a physical relationship and had exchanged contact on the WeChat app until April 2021. Du began exposing their romance on the internet after losing contact with Kris Wu in June.
