The ŌĆśJeonju Cinema ProjectŌĆÖ is a representative segment of JIFF which selects creative and challenging long films and documentaries both from home and abroad, to invest in and produce so that they could be introduced worldwide. This yearŌĆÖs Jeonju Cinema Project (2021) has chosen Min Hwan KiŌĆÖs Roh Hoe Chan, 6411 (literal title), Im Heung SoonŌĆÖs Hug (literal title), Ted PentŌĆÖs Outside Noise, and Eric BaudelaireŌĆÖs A Flower in the Mouth. Director Min Hwan KiŌĆÖs Roh Hoe Chan, 6411 is a documentary based on the beliefs and philosophy continually pursued by the late Roh Hoe Chan, an assemblyman who devoted his life to liberal politics. Hug directed by Im Heung Soon is a unique and experimental work that crosses the state of filmmakers during the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, and images within dreams. Outside Noise was selected in the final round of the Jeonju Cinema Project to be invested and produced through a pitching session at the 11th Jeonju Project (previously named the Jeonju Project Market). The film carefully captures the internal changes that the main character with sleep disorders and anxiety goes through in unexpected situations he comes across as he meets various characters. World-renowned visual artist Eric BaudelaireŌĆÖs A Flower in the Mouth demonstrates its unique format as it combines fiction with an observational documentary. Moon Sung Kyung, a programmer at the JIFF, says that they have prepared films of completely different styles so that various voices are heard in the industry which usually only ever focuses on a small number of large films. ŌĆ£The Jeonju Cinema Project will continue to support films which contain huge artistic ambitions despite their low budgets,ŌĆØ they said. The 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival will be held at Jeonju Film Street from April 29th to May 8th, with the slogan ŌĆ£Film Goes On.ŌĆØ ┬Ā Source: JIFF
